The raw seismic traces recorded during acquisition are sent to a processing center to sort and condition the data so that it can be used to create an image of the subsurface.
Processing is performed to increase the signal to noise ratio and improve resolution. The processing sequence applied depends upon the data but a typical sequence is given below.
