Wireline Log - A permanent record of one or more physical measurements as a function of depth along a wellbore path, as measured using instruments lowered into the wellbore on a logging cable. Wireline logs are used to identify and correlate underground rocks, and to determine the mineralogy and physical properties of potential reservoir rocks and the nature of the fluids they contain. The record consists of one or more curves, generally displayed as a function of measured depth. Measurement may be electrical, radioactive, or acoustic.
