Stimulation Fluid Formulation

Stimulation fluids are built on site. The general formulation of a stimulation fluid is covered in the description of Material Formulation.

The two types of stimulation fluid of particular interest are acidizing fluid and fracturing fluid.

In the formulation of an acidizing fluid, the additives used are acid and acidizing additive.

In the formulation of a fracturing fluid the main additive used is proppant. These particles are added to a carrier fluid in order to keep a fracture in a formation open once the pressure has been released.
