This diagram shows in more detail, the composition of the catalog entries for the components of an Electric Submersible Pump (ESP)

It shows in more detail, where the attributes that define the component are inherited. The thought behind the whole catalog process is that the catalog holds the nominal properties of a facility. When the actual facility is instantiated, the nominal properties are copied over from the corresponding cat table and then those that have changed are modified. The link between a facility and its catalog entry is an optional one. This allows for the fact that the customer may not have catalog data for each piece of equipment or facility he has.
