Facility Networks and Connections

This diagram describes the classes used to capture information about how facilities can be involved in a network and connected through a network. In addition, it shows which materials are valid materials to flow through a facility network.

Facility networks are installed to produce hydrocarbons from the production strings installed on the well heads; separate the fluids; store them; and then transport the hydrocarbon products, such as gas and oil, to the points of sale. When defining the physical production networks, the connections between the different facilities or equipment must be clearly identified; the purpose for the connections must be described; and the assets’ capacities, fluid types, and their flow direction must all be indicated. This information will be used for planning, designing, maintaining, and optimizing the hydrocarbon production.
